Crooked Lake Heritage Festival April 6

Includes Big Kahuna Paddle Challenge

The 2019 Crooked Lake Heritage Festival will celebrate the rich history of Babson Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at Webber International University.

The free event includes live music, history displays, art activities, food trucks and performance by the Babson Park Elementary chorus.

At 9 a.m. teams will compete in the Big Kahuna Paddle Challenge. Teams of 10-14 paddlers will race a 29-foot Voyager canoe around a buoy and back to earn the title "Big Kahuna."

Cost is $500 to enter or sponsor a team. To become involved in the Big Kahuna, contact Bill Redmon at 863-632-1924.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit Stirring Waters and the Webber Rotaract Club's fundraising efforts to assist the Rotary Club of Lake Wales' International Project. For more information about Stirring Waters, go online to http://www.stirringh2o.com
