Crowd Enjoys 93rd Easter Sunrise Service at Bok Tower

The 93rd annual sunrise service at Bok Tower In Lake Wales is a tradition for many people and families. The sun created the horizon at exactly 6:59 and the brisk spring breeze gave all who attended one more reason to pull out the sweaters, boots and pashminas before the mercury rises and humidity sets in.

The birds singing joined in to the chorus of the Lake Wales Chorale and orchestra. Carillon music filled the air. The crowd sang "In Christ Alone," and the sounds of "Amazing Grace" by bagpiper Ben Pugh filled the air.

Pastor Chad Reynolds from First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales delivered the message from the balcony of the tower - high above the vast crowd. The morning sky was brilliant blue as families took their annual East family photographs.

As the new day dawned, we remember Christ Jesus bore the sins of the world, hung on the cross and died but rose again on the third day to give all of us hope for eternal life in heaven.
