Bok Tower Gardens Announces Holiday Events Schedule

Experience a holiday tradition that connects the entire family to nature and reignites the creative spirit at Holidays at Bok Tower Gardens. Nature's seasonal beauty provides the inspiration for this year's celebration. From creatures large and small, to the cheerful nod of seasonal foliage, visitors will discover a rich palette of natural beauty as the Gardens' celebrates the landscape and the history that has shaped this majestic area.

Holidays at Bok Tower Gardens offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the 25th Anniversary Holiday Home Tour at Pinewood Estate, poinsettia, bromeliad and amaryllis displays, live music on the 205-foot Singing Tower carillon, winter walking tours, and a variety of seasonal programs. The highly anticipated event of the season, Sunset & Symphony Holiday Concert returns on December 7 with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

Discover 25 Years of Magic with the Holiday Home Tour at Pinewood Estate

On the National Register of Historic Places, the 1932 Mediterranean-style Pinewood Estate is a step back in time to the grandeur and glamour of a bygone era. Discover the story of three uniquely American families that called Pinewood Estate home from the 1930s to the 1970s. This tapestry of history is experienced in the breathtaking architecture and sumptuous furnishings that make Pinewood Estate one of the finest examples of gracious living.

Lavishly decorated and celebrating 25 years of splendor, this year the Holiday Home Tour at Pinewood Estate brings the majesty of Mother Nature in all 20-rooms of this historical home. Members of The Amaryllis Society are decorating the entire estate and the entry gates and their mission is to preserve the heritage of the estate, and to take on other special projects on behalf of the Gardens.

Bringing the beauty of the outside in and calling upon four generations of history, the designers have decorated the estate with holiday finery, spectacular trees, priceless antiques and more. Around every corner, experience dazzling décor that sets Pinewood Estate apart from any other historical destination. Uncover family traditions from the Buck, Slater and Keene families who made Pinewood Estate the gem of Bok Tower Gardens. Under the direction of lead designers Patti Bostick and Ginny Dunson and the Amaryllis Society, the mansion is transformed into a glittering holiday showplace.

A Holiday Search for the Whole Family

Children are encouraged to participate in a fun search for a family of Pinewood squirrels, Tucker and Tillie who are hiding throughout the Estate.

MEMBER ONLY SNEAK PEEK: Nov. 23 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members get the first look at the 25th edition of the Holiday Home Tour. Tickets required. Members $9 adult, $6 child.

HOLIDAYS AT Bok Tower Gardens: Nov. 29 to Jan. 5. Experience Pinewood Estate completely transformed into a holiday showplace, festive carillon concerts at 1 p.m. & 3 p.m. and seasonal holiday foliage. Combo admission to the Gardens and Pinewood Estate Holiday Home Tour $25 adult, $12 (child ages 5-12).

HOLIDAYS AT Bok Tower Gardens WALKING TOURS: Nov. 29 to Jan. 5. Mon-Sat: 12 noon and 2 p.m., Sun: 2 p.m. Walking tours of the Gardens start at the Visitor Center. Included with general admission or membership.

HOLIDAYS AT HAMMOCK HOLLOW "DISCOVER FLORIDA CRANBERRY": Nov. 23 10 a.m. to noon. Learn more about the Roselle plant also known as Florida Cranberry with a Roselle tea tasting and tie-dye art activity. Included in general admission, free for members.

HOLIDAYS AT HAMMOCK HOLLOW "HOLIDAY BIRDING TRADITIONS": Nov. 30 and Dec. 7, 10 a.m. to noon. Part of many international traditions; discover how to include feathered friends and make a bird feeder ornament. Included in general admission, free for members.

SUCCULENT HOLIDAY WREATH WORKSHOP: Dec 7. 10 a.m. to noon, 1:30-3:30 p.m. Create your own succulent wreath for the holidays. All supplies included, $50 members, $65 non-members.

SUNSET & SYMPHONY HOLIDAY MUSIC CONCERT: Dec. 7. The concert of the season enjoy a pre-show performance by Steamin Quartet from 4-5:30 p.m. and a magnificent concert by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra at 6 p.m. Advance tickets: $30 members/$35 non-members, $10 child. Day of concert: Price increases to $45.

HOLIDAYS AT HAMMOCK HOLLOW "HOLLY-DAY PLANTS": Dec. 14 and Dec. 21. 10 a.m. to noon. Families will learn about plants used around the world to make the holidays more festive. Learn how to draw a poinsettia. Included in general admission, free for members.

UNIQUE HOLIDAY CENTERPIECE: Dec 14. 1-3 p.m. Create a unique holiday table piece using fruit, succulents and orchid blooms with assorted foliage. $60 members/$75 non-members

CORK VS. CRAFT DINNER: HOLIDAY REMATCH: Dec 14. 6-8:00 p.m. Enjoy a dinner of four courses each paired with a beer and a wine designed to explore the advantages of each pairing and reveal why these combinations are popular. Part of the Florida Food Series presented by Visit Central Florida. $55 non-members/ $65 non-member.

CARILLON & CHORALE HOLIDAY CONCERT: Dec. 15. 4 p.m. Enjoy a holiday concert that combines the talents of chorale members from Harrison School for the Arts with the Singing Tower carillon. Included with general admission or membership.

HOLIDAYS AT HAMMOCK HOLLOW "NEW YEAR TRADITIONS FROM THE NETHERLANDS": Dec. 28. 10 a.m. to noon. Take the "plunge" with a wintery run through the River Walk and discover Dutch traditions with cookies and crafts. Included in general admission, free for members.
