Charter School Buses to Deliver Meals Along Five Routes

Children 18 and Under Eligible, Asked to Take Safety Precautions

Starting Thursday April 9 the Lake Wales Charter School bus drivers will start delivering meals to 18 locations along five routes.

Meals will be available to children 18 and under regardless of where the student attends school.

Social distancing of at least six feet is mandatory for neighborhood pickup locations. If able, masks and gloves are highly recommended for the safety of all. Children need to be present to receive the meals.

Meals will be delivered Monday through Friday, with the exception of Friday, April 10, a holiday. Drivers will distribute the meals by the driver's window a window at the back and a window on the right side of the bus.

Route 1 delivery locations and times include 10:50 a.m. at The Preserves, 11:15 a.m. at Peddlers Pond, 11:45 a.m. at Waverly and noon at Enchanted Grove.

Route 2 delivery locations and times include 10:45 on Mammoth Grove Road, 11:10 a.m. on Camp Mack Road, 11:55 a.m. at Highland Manor and 11:55 a.m. on Washington Avenue.

Route 3 delivery locations and times are 10:40 a.m. at Tower Point, 11:05 a.m. on Mountain Lake Cutoff, 11:30 a.m. on Old Bartow Road and 12:15 p.m. at the Ranchettes.

Route 4 delivery locations and times are 10:55 a.m. at Lake Buffum, 11:20 a.m. at South Lake Wales and 11:45 a.m. at College Park Mobile,

Route 5 delivery locations and times include 11 a.m. at Walk-in-Water, 11:25 a.m. at Club Circle and 11:50 a.m. at Sam Keen and ILK.

The Polk County Public Schools are now distributing meals at drive-through locations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McLaughlin Middle School and Spook Hill Elementary. Children under age 18 need to be in the car to receive the meals, which are available regardless of where the students attend school.
