Learn "All About Italy" at Luncheon April 6

Fans of Italian travel, or those who just dream about it, are invited to share lunch and enjoy an hour of fellowship Saturday, April 6 at l'Incontro Italian Restaurant in Lake Wales.

"All About Italy" is the name of a "Meetup" group that draws Italophiles from as far away as Orlando, Sebring, and Clermont. The delightful art, architecture, history, and natural beauty of Italy have long made it one of the world's most desirable travel destinations. A stronger dollar has made the cost of travel there slightly less expensive in recent months.

Hosted by Lake Wales residents Irene and Mike Spotswood, the expert group offers solid travel-planning advice, amusing stories, and comradery at their once-a-month seasonal gatherings. There is no charge for attending, and members order and pay for their own meals and beverages. The luncheon meeting will begin at 1 p.m. followed by informal discussions. Questions are welcomed.

Each meeting will include a "Five-minute Italian" lesson that will smooth the way for those traveling beyond the mostly-bilingual primary tourist destinations to explore the amazingly-romantic small towns and countryside of Italy. There will also be an Italian trivia contest, with a prize for the winner.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to register on Meetup.com at no charge, or to call Mike at 863-605-9934.
