Wildlife Photography Exhibit Opens Sept. 20 at Lake Wales Arts Center

The Lake Wales Arts Council will open a new exhibit Friday, Sept. 20 featuring the "Keep Florida Wild" nature photography of Adam Bass.

The opening will include a reception from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Michael Crews Gallery of the Lake Wales Arts Center, 1099 SR 60 East. Admission is free to the public. The event will include food and an open bar.

In describing the exhibit, Bass wrote: "I am a Florida native, born in Winter Haven. I have always loved wild Florida - the Real Florida. The natural, wild lands of Florida are my sanctuary. I currently live on Lake Pierce - part of the Everglades Headwaters. Sharing Florida's wild places and keeping them wild are my passions. I hope you enjoy my photography and that it inspires you to keep Florida wild."

The artist's mother, Eve Bass, introduced him to art at a young age, He picked up a camera in high school and has been shooting wildlife for several years. Adam served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps, deploying twice to Iraq. Since then he has been involved in Florida Agriculture. He is married to Kim Bass, and they have two children, Max and Haddie.
