Air Filtration Company Bringing 200 Jobs to Lake Wales

A North Carolina company that manufactures air filters, air filtration products and equipment is expected to bring 200 jobs to Lake Wales in early 2020. Pamlico Air will be located in the old Findlay Industries manufacturing plant at 1230 N. Scenic Hwy.

In announcing the good news, Kevin Kieft, president & CEO of the Lake Wales Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Council, pointed out that the Findlay building was the last manufacturing site of any significant size available in the area.

He said he is hopeful that investors will build more sites west of town near the airport.

Pamlico Air serves the U.S. and plans to expand manufacturing facilities nationwide. The company in April 2019 opened its corporate headquarters in the historic Fowle Warehouse building in Wilson, NC. The headquarters houses sales, IT, Engineering, Finance, Customer Service and Marketing operations. Pamlico also opened a manufacturing plant in Wilson, NC, announcing a $10 million investment and plans for 300 jobs.

Kieft said the Lake Wales site expects a quick ramp-up to 200 manufacturing jobs. The company's website lists job opportunities for assemblers, laminators and pleaters along with janitorial and maintenance jobs. Shifts are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. To apply online, go to https://pamlico-air.com/careers/

On its website Pamlico Air lists its target markets as commercial & industrial accounts, specifically wholesale and residential channels:."Our customer-first and family-oriented principles make us professional yet personal in our business strategy. With a strong desire to leave a legacy for our communities, Pamlico Air strives to improve the air filtration industry and create products that lead to better health and wellness for our customers."

While the company is relatively new, its website shows 10 corporate staff members with a combined 170-plus years' experience in the air filtration industry. Leading the Lake Wales team will be Operations Manager Donna Osteen, with 17 years' experience and Facility Manager Allen Moore, with nine years' experience.
