Library Offering One-Week Bok Tower Family Passes

Program on Hold Until Both Reopen

Bok Tower Gardens and the Lake Wales Library Association have partnered to create a unique program that will allow library patrons to check out passes to Bok Tower Gardens for up to four adults and up to six children.

The Garden Lane Pass program, as it will be known, was developed by Bok Tower Gardens' Education Director, Tricia Martin. Martin reached out to the Lake Wales Public Library with the proposal and the Lake Wales Library Association, the library's non-profit support organization, agreed to serve as the program's sponsor.

Lake Wales Library Association President, Chip Thullbery, stated, "Providing Polk County Library Cooperative card holders the opportunity to check out Garden Lane Passes and access the wonderful experience of Bok Tower Gardens is a program the Lake Wales Library Association is pleased and excited to support."

The Garden Lane Pass program provides a one week check out of a Garden Lane Pass to Polk County Library Cooperative adult card holders, in good standing. In addition, Garden Lane Pass holders also receive a 10% discount at the Blue Palmetto Café and The Shop at Bok. The Lake Wales Public Library will have four passes for use by its patrons, and they can be placed on hold through the Polk County Library Cooperative's reserve system.

The Garden Lane Pass must be picked up at and returned to the Lake Wales Public Library. The Garden Lane Pass will not be sent to other PCLC locations through the transit system. If the Garden Lane Pass is not returned to the Lake Wales Public Library within ten days after check out the Garden Lane Pass will be deactivated and privileges will not be available to the borrower.

The Garden Lane Pass does not include reciprocal privileges awarded to Bok Tower Gardens' members, Pinewood Estate tickets or discounts for regularly ticketed Bok Tower Gardens' classes, camps, concerts, and other ticketed events.

The Garden Lane Pass program begins on March 9, 2020. For information call 863.678.4004 or email [email protected] for information.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Both the library and Bok Tower Gardens are closed temporarily in response to safety concerns about the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus.
