Nancy Walker, 1944-2020

Nancy Jean Walker, 76, of Lake Wales passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2020 at her residence.

She was born June 9, 1944 in Green Bay, WI to the late Walter and Evelyn Fraser. She moved to Lake Wales from Key Largo in 2004. Nancy was a retired writer for The Reporter. She belonged to the Mahjong club, was a member of the hospitality committee, was on the board of the H.O.A., and was a past member and past president of "The Doe's" (the women's group of The Elk Club).

Nancy took care of the community of Carlsberg newsletter, and had a column in the newspaper in Tavernier called the Upper Keys Weekly Newspaper. Nancy enjoyed playing cards in her free time and visiting the cottage in Wisconsin during the summer. Everyone always loved her Bloody Marys. She loved her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews dearly.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Walker in 1998. Survivors include her sister, Diane Berndt of Lake Wales; brother, Stewart Fraser of Wisconsin; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Winter Haven with Pastor Charles Keeler officiating. Condolences can be sent to the family and a delayed recording of the service can be viewed at http://www.marionnelsonfuneralhome.com.
