City Coordinating Santa Calls to Local Children Dec. 21-22

Last updated 12/11/2020 at 10:48am

To brighten Christmas for local children, the City of Lake Wales is offering calls from Santa Dec. 21 and 22.

The city Recreation Department is coordinating the calls both nights from 5:30-8:30 p.m. for children age 10 and younger to talk with Santa about their holiday wishes.

Those wishing to participate should complete and return a form by 4 p.m. Dec. 18 to the city administration building at 201 W. Central Ave. The form, which includes information about the child to assist Santa in personalizing the call, is available online at http://www.lakewalesfl.gov.

Only program coordinators will have access to the participant's phone number. Parents choose one of the two calling days. If Santa reaches a voicemail he will leave a message for the child.

The form asks about the child's school, siblings, pets, hobbies and special achievements or accomplishments. It also includes what gifts Santa can talk about with the child and any area that Santa might encourage the child to make special effort or improvement.

Coordinator Lessie Hall can be reached at 863-678-4182, ext. 264 or via email at [email protected]
