Margie Lasseter Fulghum, 1936-2021

Margie Lasseter Fulghum, 85, of Maggie Valley, NC passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 after an extended battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born Feb. 21, 1936 in Adel, GA to the late Louis and Evie Lasseter and moved to Lake Wales at a very young age. She graduated from Lake Wales High School in 1954. She was one of the original five Lake Wales High School majorettes and the very first to model the Scottish Kilt Design. She then attended and graduated from Webber College in Babson Park.

She worked as a bank trust officer and a loan officer at First Federal of Lake Wales. She was selected to head the area's first home-owned title insurance company called Titleworks and ran the flourishing business for many years until her retirement.

She loved her family above all else, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margie drew great joy from landscaping her yards and often found joy in her collection of butterflies. She loved the Lord and had a deep and abiding faith in God.

Margie is survived by her son, Marvin W. Fulghum, III and wife, Trenna of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Tracy Wells and husband, Ken of Maggie Valley, NC; her brother, Mike (Hawk) Lasseter and wife, Brenda of Babson Park, FL; two sister-in-laws; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, April 16 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor Dustin Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Wales Cemetery.
