Dyer Difference Award Recognizes Peace River Center

Life is challenging in so many ways, and sometimes it's a comfort to know that there is a place you can go filled with people who are committed to helping engage, restore, and empower individuals in the community to reach their fullest potential. That's exactly why Peace River Center is the go-to resource for individuals in Polk, Highlands, and Hardee Counties who are need help with mental health, substance abuse, and victim services.

The nonprofit organization provides outpatient therapy, 24-hour inpatient emergency psychiatric care, shelter and programming for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, a 24-hour mobile crisis response team, and an array of recovery services for mental health and behavioral needs. Every year, Peace River Center serves approximately 22,000 individuals throughout the three-county service area, and it's this commitment to excellent, respectful team-based care that helped make Peace River Center the obvious choice for the July Dyer Difference Award.

Each month, members of the Dyer family and Dyer Kia and Dyer Chevrolet team meet to review the applications which have been submitted and select one non-profit organization to receive that month's recognition and $3,000 award. For the members of the Dyer team, it's all about helping to make a positive difference in the community. For the recipients, it's an acknowledgement of their tireless efforts to do the same and a much-needed financial boost to help further their missions.
