Want to attend Polk State College but struggling to afford it since you don't have a good job? Go to work at Legoland Florida Resort and you can accomplish both goals at once.

As part of their new Building Higher Prepaid Scholarship Program, Legoland Florida Resort is extending their partnership with Polk State College. The program allows employees the opportunity to achieve employment with the resort and prepaid scholarships to the College. Legoland Florida is counting on the incentive to help it build a committed workforce.

""At Legoland Florida Resort our employees, known as Model Citizens, are the heart of the guest experience" said Rex Jackson, Managing Director of Legoland Resorts North America. "Through our benefit programs and development opportunities we strive to ensure that our Model Citizens have the opportunity for personal and professional growth."

The pre-paid scholarships allow eligible employees have no out-of-pocket tuition costs by covering any tuition balances at Polk State that are not already covered by other forms of financial aid.

Polk State President Angela Garcia Falconetti also praised the program, saying "Polk State College is proud to build on its longstanding partnership with LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, which continues to provide internship and employment opportunities for hundreds of Polk State students and alumni."

"This new initiative is a testament to our success as partners in creating a powerful workforce pipeline that is propelling the economic development of Polk County forward through academic and career-building opportunities," Falconetti added

In order to maintain eligibility for the scholarship, Legoland employees must make themselves available for a minimum of four full days of work per week and have at least 60 days of employment service. Once enrolled they must maintain a minimum grade of C in each class. The scholarship will cover up to five classes or 15 credit hours per semester.

"Our special relationship with Polk State College provides our Model Citizens with access to a high-quality education, right here in Polk County," Jackson pointed out.
