AdventHealth and Bond Clinic Provide Free Sports Physicals to Polk County Students

AdventHealth clinicians and Bond Clinic in partnership with 10 Polk County high schools provided annual sports physicals to more than 500 pre-registered student athletes to make sure they were fit and well for their upcoming sports seasons. Providers checked blood pressure, height and weight as well as looked for skeletal, mobility and muscular issues.

"We want to make sure these students are healthy and ready to participate in their chosen sport. By offering these no cost physicals we make it easy for the students to see a provider and have a thorough check up,'' said Dr. Belinda Gavino, an AdventHealth internal medicine physician. "This is also another way that AdventHealth and Bond Clinic providers can give back to the community, which is something that is very important to me and my colleagues."

All physicals were free for all students in attendance. If Polk County high school students weren't able to make it to today's event, they can receive a sports physical for $25 by making an appointment at any AdventHealth Medical Group primary care location in Polk County.
