The event is hosted by the Ridge Scenic Highway "Corridor Management Entity," an association of volunteers and representatives from cities and municipalities along the route. It is intended to raise awareness of the natural beauty of the Lake Wales Ridge by drawing visitors an highlighting the numerous historic places and nationally known attractions along its length.
