Patsy Draper, 1941-2024

Elementary School Mentor

Patsy Draper of Lake Wales passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 at her residence.

She was born September 23, 1941 in Dundee to the late Milton and Trummie Hathcock. She has been a lifelong resident of the area. Patsy was a homemaker and elementary school mentor. She was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd where she volunteered on the Alter Guild and at the Thrift Store.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Draper; and sister, Barbara Brokaw. She is survived by her daughter, Melody McKenna and husband Pat of Lake Wales; step-sons, Mike Draper and wife Lori of Lake Wales, and Andy Draper and wife Theresa of Lake Wales; grandchildren, Morgan Porter (Kody), Meredith McKenna, Brian Draper (Ellynne), Betsy Draper, Ben Draper (Paige) and Drew (Ashley) Draper; and five great-grandchildren, Lee Porter, Riley Draper, Wyatt Draper (Kaylee), Justin Draper and Jasper Draper; niece, Vickie Tuimala (Michael); nephew, Tim Smith; and great-niece, Kaitlin Tuimala.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Fr. Timothy Nunez officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd (221 South 4th Street, Lake Wales, FL 33853) or the Lake Wales Care Center (140 East Park Avenue, Lake Wales, FL 33853).
