Final Chance to "Meet the Candidates" Offered Saturday

All Five Commission Candidates Invited to "Picnic-style" Event.

With only days remaining before the election, an "old-fashioned picnic-style candidates forum" this Saturday will give Lake Wales voters a final opportunity to meet and ask questions of candidates for the two city commission seats which will be filled in the Tuesday vote.

The event, to be held at the city's "B Street Center," will feature "food and drink alongside a lively candidate debate," according to event co-organizer and moderator B L Francis.

All five candidates running for the two seats in the April 2 election have been officially invited to attend, offering residents a unique opportunity to meet them, learn about their platforms, and pose questions, according to Francis.

The event is set to begin at 10 a.m. and conclude around 2 p.m.at the center, located at 230 B Street on Saturday, March 30, 2024. The candidates will commence speaking at 11 a.m., followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

The forum "is a quintessential community event," said Francis. "This is a chance for Lake Wales residents to engage directly with those vying to represent them. It's not just a debate, it's a celebration of civic engagement."

"Residents are encouraged to attend for several compelling reasons," Francis said, citing a chance to meet the candidates and interact with them in a relaxed, open-air setting.

"Voice Your Concerns. Pose questions and get direct answers from those seeking to lead Lake Wales," Francis said. "Share community spirit, join neighbors and friends in a fun and informative community gathering.
