New 85-Lot Subdivision Will Have Access From Capps Road

Crews and equipment from Diamondback Civil are preparing the streets and infrastructure that will host 85 new homes at Hickory Ridge just east of Lake Wales Country Club and south of Oakwood Country Club.

Work has begun on Hickory Ridge, an 85-lot single-family subdivision that will rise just east of Lake Wales Country Club. The project is the work of Garden Street Communities Southeast, based in Pensacola, FL. It adds to the growing list of residential projects now under development in the southeast quadrant of the city.

Site work is underway, being conducted by Diamondback Civil. The 47-acre project site lies in unincorporated Polk County and includes a significant wetland area which will remain undeveloped. A single entrance will face Capps Road.

Although the new neighborhood lies outside the city limits, it will obtain water and reuse water from the City of Lake Wales.

According to the plans presented to Polk County planners it will use private septic systems on each lot, which is permissible because each lot has a minimum of 10,000 square feet of land.

According to public records, Garden Street Communities Southeast purchased the property in 2020 for $300,000.
