With deep sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of Jon and Wanda Hoaglin. Jon was born on September 8, 1936 in Hillsboro, Iowa. He passed away on April 21, 2025 in Lake Wales, Florida. Wanda was born on March 25, 1941 in Lakeland, Florida. She passed away on March 2, 2025 in Lake Wales, Florida.

Jon and Wanda were devoted educators, beloved parents and grandparents, and lifelong partners. Their journey through life was marked by shared purpose, deep compassion, and unwavering commitment to each other, their family, and the many students whose lives they touched.

They dedicated their decades-long careers to teaching in Polk County, inspiring generations with their wisdom, kindness, and passion for learning. Their classrooms were places of encouragement and discovery, and their influence extended far beyond the school walls. Together, they lived out their shared belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of community.

Jon and Wanda were married for 57 years. Theirs was a true partnership-one of mutual respect, quiet strength, and deep devotion. That they left this world so close together is a reflection of the closeness they shared in life.

They are survived by their son, Gareth Hoaglin (Angela), sisters Mary Sue Hoaglin, Marsha H. Cioffi, (Nick), three beloved grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 East Main Street, Bartow, FL 33830, on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:00 AM, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Polk Education Foundation in their honor, continuing their lifelong dedication to the enrichment of young minds. ()
