LW Library June Art Exhibit by Alice Absolutely

Alice Absolutely is a self-taught artist positioning her work at the cusp of Abstract Emotionalism. She was born in Winter Haven and works now as Lake Wales Public Library's very own teen specialist (although you'd know her better as Amanda McCallister in that role).

She is displaying artwork pieces through June 28 in the Lake Wales Public Library's Local Artist Gallery from her collection, "Flying High at the End of My Rope."

This collection is a visual circus of emotional overload. Dervishes dance on single panel and multi-panel canvases in a myriad of colors and textures. The collection travels through vicarious visuals: excited sleeplessness, fear, thrill, solitude, fun, hesitation, peace, compassion, and hope. The pieces are mile markers on a journey through Abstract Emotionalism to rediscover feelings through a new synesthesiatic mask which turns emotion into intertwined colors and textures.

Her works have been displayed at events with the Orlando Museum of Art, the Morean Arts Center in St. Pete, and the Art League of Daytona Beach. She has recently worked on commissioned projects with the Winter Haven Cultural Arts Advisory Committee and the Partnership for Public Education.

Alice's paintings are displayed in the LW Public Library's Local Artist Gallery through June 28. To view her works, visit the LW Public Library during regular hours of operation: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Friday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
