The Book Shelter Downtown Focuses on Quality Over Quantity

Bookstores aren't dead! Need proof? Make your way to downtown Lake Wales and visit The Book Shelter.

Tucked away in The Arcade at 229 E, Stuart Avenue The Book Shelter is a bookworm's dream. It is owned and operated by Jacqui and Sam Terry and has been a hidden gem for over two years.

It is a small store that focuses on quality over quantity. Instead of seeing how many books they can accumulate, their goal is to have a collection that includes only bestsellers. The best part might be that you get access to these great finds at thrift store prices.

The Book Shelter is only open on Friday and Saturdays so be sure to mark your calendars. They have awesome loyalty programs and also accept book trade-ins for store credit.

You can find anything from kids books to theology, from gardening to cookbooks. They have a helpful and knowledgeable staff that would love to help you find exactly what you are looking for.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better it does! They also sell mattresses. Bet you didn't see that coming. They deal with luxury mattresses like Purple, Nectar, and Puffy. You can pick up a like new mattress for 50% off retail and if you buy a mattress you get $50 store credit at The Book Shelter.

Make sure to follow them on Facebook to keep up with all their deals. If you have any questions give Sam a call at 785-577-4284.
