Polk Democrats Plan "Ridin' with Biden Caravans Aug. 16

The Democratic National Convention starts Aug. 17, and Polk County Democrats will be revving up enthusiasm with three "Ridin' with Biden" caravans the day before the convention kicks off in Milwaukee.

On Sunday, Aug. 16, the caravans will start at 2 p.m. at three Polk locations. One will start in Lakeland, one in Poinciana, and one in Winter Haven. One hundred cars or more are expected to hit the road in Polk. They'll join thousands of cars around Florida that will be caravaning for Biden at the same time.

Because safety is a key factor with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing, participants will be in their cars, away from crowds.

"We want to show our excitement for Joe Biden and have some fun safely and healthily," said Polk Democratic Chairwoman Dr. Kathie Sutherland.

Cars will be decorated with slogans and banners, and there will be music and sound systems to get the message across. The "Ridin' with Biden" journeys will take about an hour. To sign up, go to CARAVAN.BidenForFl.com
