Bienvenido "Benny" Fernandez Jr., 1949-2020

Bienvenido "Benny" Fernandez, Jr., 70, of Lake Wales passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 10, 2020 at his residence.

He was born October 11, 1949 in Yabocoa, Puerto Rico to the late Bienvenido and Edelmira Fernandez, Sr. He moved to Lake Wales from Winter Haven six years ago. Benny was a retired housekeeper for the Metropolitan Hospital in New York City and was of the Pentecostal faith. He loved cars, birds, his plants, his tools, and cooking.

Benny is survived by his wife of 47 years, Daisy Fernandez; daughters, Debra Martinez and husband Carlos of Winter Haven, Dorka Fernandez-Arce and husband Angel of Winter Haven, and Marta Fernandez Lebeau and husband Richard of Riverview; sons, David Fernandez and wife Jessica of Fort Stewart, Georgia; sisters, Adela Fernandez of Puerto Rico, Provi Fernandez of Puerto Rico, Sonia Fernandez of Puerto Rico, and Emelinda Fernandez of Puerto Rico; brothers, Luis Fernandez of Orlando, William Fernandez of Puerto Rico, and Jose Fernandez of Puerto Rico; and eight grandchildren.

A meet and greet will be held from 5 p.m. until memorial service time at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Rafael Morales officiating.
