The Lake Wales Arts Council will host the opening reception and awards ceremony for the Chip Thullbery Fine Arts Invitational from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13. This is the 2nd annual juried fine arts gallery competition for the Lake Wales Arts Council and it showcases more than 40 talented artists from across Central Florida.

The exhibit features more than 60 pieces of work judged by Susan Altman, a practicing artist, educator, professor, and assistant chairperson in the Visual, Performing and Media Arts Department at Middlesex County College.

The Lake Wales Arts Council is pleased to announce the dedication of the Annual Fine Arts Exhibition to dear friend, Chip Thullbery, who was a long-time member of the council, which is paying tribute to the legacy of art patronage he created in the community. Thullbery was instrumental to the inception of this Fine Arts Invitational and has been a driving force behind the Lake Wales Arts Festival. He was a model of community involvement and selfless service, and it was an honor to work with him at the Lake Wales Arts Council.

In the past, this invitational has been a record-breaking show for the Lake Wales Arts Council, which is looking forward to another banner exhibition. The Lake Wales Arts Council extends a special thank you to Peterson & Myers, P.A. for making this, and all of the exhibits possible through their generous sponsorship.
