Mary Kane, 1936-2021

Mary Lillian Kane, 84, of Lake Wales, formerly of Nalcrest, FL and Hicksville, NY passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021 at Advent Health Lake Wales under the care of Vitas Hospice.

She was born Nov. 6, 1936 in Queens, NY to the late Anthony and Irene Ervolina. Mary was a homemaker and an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Guild at the church. She loved art, doing watercolor paintings, and traveling.

Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Sally Dekanchuk, and Carol Eschmann. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gerard “Jerry” Kane, Sr .; daughters, Irene Kane (Jen) of Orlando, and Kathleen Kane-Pesant (Ralph) of Baldwin, New York; sons, Michael Kane (Trish) of Linden, Virginia, Gerard Kane, Jr. (Lynette) of Winter Haven, David Kane (Angela) of Anaheim, California, Thomas Kane (Marta) of Vass, North Carolina, and Stephen Kane (Sara) of Lake Wales; brothers, Anthony Ervolina, Jr. (Lyndia) of West Union, West Virginia, and Robert Ervolina (Jackie) of Long Beach, New York; grandchildren, Alyssa, Christian, Daniel, Matthew, Hayden, Delaney, Clare, Emily, and Paul; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 10 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales with Father David Vargas officiating.
