Communication Builds Our Community

Woman's Club of Lake Wales Boosts "World Kindness Day"

World Kindness Day is an international holiday that was formed in 1998, to promote kindness throughout the world and is observed annually on November 13 as part of the World Kindness Movement. It is observed in many countries including the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and the U.A.E. World Kindness Day presents us with the opportunity to reflect upon one of the most important and unifying human principles. It is a day devoted to the positive potential of both large and small acts of kindness.

Kindness. Is it contagious? Well, the GFWC Woman's Club of Lake Wales thinks it is. What if we lived each day with the purpose of making a difference in someone's life? Would it be contagious? Could it begin that ripple effect of spreading peace, love, and kindness within our communities? The GFWC Woman's Club of Lake Wales believes it will.

At The GFWC Woman's Club of Lake Wales' members were challenged to participate in the President's Project Day of Kindness. The Club members and friends have been asked to take an Oath to do one random act of kindness every day for ten days between November 4th and November 13th. The Random Acts of Kindness will be noted by each member every day and they would like you to join them and consider putting your actions into a reality. At the end of the week, we will see all the beautiful things that have been done in the community. Some challenges will be easy, and some will force members to dig a little deeper. Whether you choose to participate with the GFWC Woman's Club of Lake Wales in the challenge or choose your own random act of kindness, what's important is that you attempt to find ways to spread love and kindness in the community.

Take an act of kindness and share it with someone. There are no limitations of where it will happen or on what day or how many times you do it. Change a tire for someone, open a door for someone else, compliment someone on their hair, jump start someone's car, give someone directions. Cook someone a meal, or deliver a good meal to someone who needs it. Do something that you are comfortable with that will touch others.

Share this with everyone you know and let's see how many people we can reach, by letting others know and spreading the word. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.

Act of kindness can happen at any time, post up and let others know what you did, it might encourage others to do something!
