Robert Wayne (Bob) Peppel, 1940-2022

Robert Wayne (Bob) Peppel passed away peacefully at home at age 81 in Tallahassee, Florida, on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

He was born December 21,1940 in Steubenville, Ohio. He lived a long and joyous life, and was well loved by everyone he knew. He was always quick to lend a hand and loved serving others.

Bob graduated from Gainesville High School in Gainesville, FL, the University of Florida and was a proud veteran US Naval Officer. He was a long time resident of Tucker, Georgia and Lake Wales, Florida. He was a steam locomotive and model railroad enthusiast and active member of both the Railroad Model Club of Atlanta and the Ridge Live Steamers in Dundee, Florida. In Lake Wales, Florida, He was active in the Noon Rotary Club, the American Legion, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.

He is survived by his loving wife Jacque Peppel, daughters Cheryl Peppel and Heidi Peppel Powell (Derek), grandchildren Rachel Lougher Calvert (Ben), Joshua Powell, Michael Powell, and Matthew Powell, and great grandchildren Asher Lougher, Benjamin Calvert, and Leila Calvert.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, the Rotary Foundation of Lake Wales for Scholarship (PO Box 406, Lake Wales FL, 33859), and the Ridge Live Steamers (www.ridgelivesteamers.org).

A memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Lake Wales, FL, at 11"00 am on December 3rd. 2022, with Father Timothy Nunez officiating. The service will be live streamed on Facebook. A Reception and Visitation will be held after the service.
