This weekend post on social media alerted the public to help locate the missing woman and her son. Brandy Hutchins had been ordered by the court to turn over custody of her ten-year-old son, Aiden, to her former husband.
The insanity of anger and revenge resulted in three deaths in a horrific shooting in Lake Wales Sunday. A dispute over child custody was the likely motivation that caused a woman to kill her children and herself.
Brandy Hutchins of Lake Wales lost a ruling that had brought her former spouse here from his relocated home in Maine. She was ordered to turn over custody by 6:00 pm Friday. Instead she fled.
Hutchins had apparently chosen to hide in a mobile home in the Waverly neighborhood in Lake Wales, accompanied by her 19-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son, Aiden. Law enforcement was asked to assist in locating her. They found the trio dead of gunshot wounds.

Hutchins had reportedly previously shared a July 29 post about another missing child with a single word comment: "Heartbreaking."
