Linda Marie Baker, 1962-2024

Linda Marie Baker, 61, of Frostproof, FL, passed away on January 20, 2024.

Linda was born March 9, 1962, to the late Robert Felesky and Norma Herzog.

She moved to Frostproof from Key West in 2014 and lived in Maryland prior to Key West. Linda met the love of her life Butch (Merritt K.) Baker in FL, and they married July 21, 2012.

Linda worked for the Polk County Department of Health. Linda was the administrative assistant for the Tobacco Program. She was instrumental in providing tobacco prevention and cessation education. In addition, Linda was the administrative assistant for Human Resources at the Health department. Linda was previously a Program Analyst for the NAWCAD (Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division). She was a member of New Hope Church in Frostproof.

Linda loved the outdoors, whether it be gardening, taking care of her various pets, or playing on the lake. She grew up with boats as a child but later in life that transitioned to her love for motorcycle rides with her husband Butch. Impromptu sing/dance parties with friends and family were to be expected by the campfire.

Inside she loved cooking, baking, and crocheting blankets or toys for whoever needed or wanted them. Linda really enjoyed life and cherished the people in hers. She was always there with encouraging words to uplift anyone's spirit.

Linda was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Michael Felesky and her stepmother Joan Felesky. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Butch (Merritt K.) Baker, III, her two children Rebecca and Robert Carpenter and stepdaughters Jaime and Meghan Baker and her two grandchildren Cain Hughes and Abrielle Widmayer. She is survived by brothers, Anthony, and Daniel Martin.

On Saturday February 10, 2024, the family with receive friends at 11am at New Hope Church 825 County Rd 630A Frostproof FL.

While flowers are welcome and appreciated, Linda lived her life for today. She enjoyed making people smile and spending time with friends and family. Please consider visiting a loved one or surprising someone with something special. In lieu of flowers donations may also be made to St. Jude's or the SPCA.
