Volunteers are needed to carry boxes of food and water to cars at the church at 511 Jackson St. in Lake Wales starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 19.
"We are in need of volunteers to help with this blessing. It takes a village to come together to overcome a crisis," said Nelson Bristol, one of the volunteers helping with the drive.
Central Florida Healthcare will provide: Gloves, hand sanitizer, masks and any another medical precautions needed for the safety of volunteers.
These events are open air and will have less than 250 people, meeting the guidelines set by the CDC. This event will be in a drive-through style. Patrons will drive up to a specific area and volunteers will load supplies into the patrons car. By doing so, this will decrease the physical contact between all personnel.
