Area lakes are valued for their recreational opportunities including fishing, water skiing, sailing, or just plain floating around.

The LAAC studies how to increase public access to Polk County's lakes and reports findings and recommendations back to the County Commission.

The Lake Access Advisory Committee includes 10 members appointed by the Polk County Board of County Commissioners. Each Commissioner appoints two members to the Committee, with staggered member terms. Members are appointed to the committee to serve a term of three years.

The meeting dates and locations are determined by the membership, who meet as often as necessary to carry out its duties.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Polk County Lake Access Advisory Committee, please submit your resume and cover letter to [email protected] by close of business on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
