Real Estate Tax Discounts Available for Early Payment
Four Percent Savings Before November 30

Polk County Tax Collector is hoping everyone takes advantage of the significant discounts available on real estate taxes. The ad valorum tax bills were mailed out last week, and the discount disappears quickly.
Owners of homes and other real estate in Polk County have an opportunity to save some jingle before the holidays by paying real estate taxes early.
"We encourage taxpayers to pay as early as they can, to save as much money as possible!" said Polk County Tax Collector Joe G. Tedder.
The 2023 Property Tax Notices were mailed Friday, October 27, and if yours is still sitting around you may be missing out on some significant savings.
There's a four percent discount for paying them early, by November 30, but on December 1 and with each following month until March, the discount lessens by 1% each month.

Don't worry if you haven't seen it around but know it's there somewhere. Customers don't require a bill in-hand in order to pay. Payments can be made online at www.PolkTaxes.com, by phone at (863) 534-4700, in person at the Polk County Tax Collector's service center in Lake Wales at 658 Highway 60 West, or any of the four other locations (in Bartow, Davenport, Lake Alfred,and Lakeland, before the customer receives the bill through mail.
"For most, these are big one-time expenditures that can be tough to handle," Tedder said. "That's why we want to emphasize how helpful the four percent
discount can be," he added.
The Office of the Tax Collector for Polk County, (TCPC) has begun accepting payments for 2023 property taxes in October in order to allow a longer window of opportunity to catch the savings..
