Lake Wales High Track Team Makes Impressive Showing at Meet
Winter Springs Hosted Athletes from Across the State

The Lake Wales High School Cross Country athletes ran in competition at Central Winds Park in Winter Springs on Saturday, October 30 in the FHSAA 3A District 3 Championship 2021. Three boys and three girls participated, so all had to run as individuals because they did not have five to complete a team.
Cristal Gomez, a senior, finished 2nd place overall female with a time of 18:39.02 which is a personal record. She was the 1st place non-team finisher qualifying to run at Regionals November 6th at 10:00 am at the Austin Tindall Sports Complex in Kissimmee.
Senior runnerAutumn Kloth finished 31st overall with a time of 22:41.02 and was the 3rd individual female finisher, also qualifying to run at Regionals! Senior Rocio Gonzalez-Lopez finished 44th with a time of 24:04.57.
Antonio Ancaya, also a senior, finished 10th overall with a personal record of 17:01.03. He was the first place non-team finisher qualifying for regionals. Junior runner Cameron Gonzalez finished 11th overall with a personal record of 17:07.51. He was the second place non-team finisher qualifying for regionals. Cristian Arias-Runyan finished 59th with a personal record of 19:56.85.
