Ronald "Ronnie" Edward McKenzie Sr., 1948-2021

Ronald "Ronnie" Edward McKenzie Sr. of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021.

He was born December 20, 1948, in Cocoa, FL to the late Edward and Nita McKenzie. Ronnie was a Maintenance Supervisor at Florida's Natural for 50 plus years and retired after the 50 years but continued to consult.

Ronnie was a member of a local CB club, loved to hunt, fix things and help people. Most of all he LOVED children and people.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his son Joseph Garrett McKenzie in 2018, sister Carol Carnley in 1999 and her husband Gerald, and sister Betty Sue Byrd in 2020. He is survived by his life partner Gerri Gunter of LW, daughters Jessica McKenzie of LW, Tammy McKenzie of Crescent City, Lori Connell (Travis) of Dahlonega, GA; sons Ronnie E. McKenzie Jr (Amanda) of Dahlonega, GA and Daughter-in-law Christina McKenzie of Lake Wales, Brother Kenneth McKenzie of Lake Wales, nephew Christopher Carnley, and 2 nieces. Ronnie also had 12 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held December 18th 11:00 a.m. at the Impact Church in Lake Wales.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to The Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation; P.O. Box 241 Harbor Creek, PA 16421. FWC's Hunt of a Lifetime provides hunting experiences for disabled children.
